Tom decided to pull our Outlaw's Patriot mare (Patriot's
Star Spangle Banner) off pasture duty so he could ride her at the Fall Show & Celebration,
held September 3-9, 2006.
As a novice in the show ring, he entered 3 classes and brought home 2
ribbons- a 6th place in Men's Amateur(horses-4 yrs and older)
and a 2nd place in Men's Amateur Novice.
Not
too shabby for his first time out! Will he try it again?
Stay tuned!! |

-Spring Show & 3 Year Old Futurity-
(June 7-10,
2006) |
 |
In October, 2005, our
Palomino Gelding - Quest's Colonel Bogey S.
- was sent to Sonny
Nelson of Ava, MO to be broke to saddle. The more training
Bogey received from Sonny and his protégé, Caitie Patterson, the
more they thought he had great potential as a Versatility horse.
Bogey's first major introduction to the Versatility Venue was
at the Spring Show / 3 Year Old Futurity, held at the MFTHBA
showground in Ava, MO on June 7-10, 2006. Bogey and
Caitie gave an outstanding performance throughout the 4 days of
competition, entering 5 classes and bringing home 5 ribbons- 3 Blues
and 2 Reds! Way to go, Team Nelson/Patterson! |

As anyone who owns a farm knows, it is very difficult to get away
to visit family. Sometimes they have to come to you! In
April of 2006, we
were blessed with a visit from my sister and her husband, who wandered
down to MO from MI. Over the course of 2 weeks, we all managed
to go
antiquing, out to dinner and talk until the wee hours. Because
of the constant
rain, though, we enjoyed watching mares and foals from the safety of
the porch.
In spite of the soggy conditions, their visit was truly a
special time with special memories! |

They had a pretty good

....Mom, down for a visit from Michigan,
and seeing how quiet and sensible our Fox Trotters were, decided to
climb into the saddle for a picture. Not bad for an 80+ year old
gal, who hadn't been near a horse in many, many years..... |
